Chianti: Center for Wine

Take a full day excursion to discover the most fascinating Chianti landscape with a selection of its wineries. Your first stop, the medieval fortress of Monteriggioni, used as the northern outpost to protect Siena from the possibility of attacks by the Florentines. Afterwards it is time to "taste" Chianti - you'll go to an amazing winery where are produced not only wine and extra virgin olive oil, but also balsamic vinegar and honey. You’ll have a tasting of all the different products, plus a light lunch. Afterwards a stop in Castellina in Chianti for a visit of the small town. Later a pleasurable stop in a local family owned vineyard and production farm. Here you will tour the wine cellar and will have a second wine tasting to complete this day of the wines and food of Chianti, before returning to Siena in the late afternoon.
