Montalcino + Pienza

Take a full day excursion to visit two of the most beautiful towns - Montalcino and Pienza. Montalcino is a medieval hilltop village most known now for the Brunello wine. Before stopping in Montalcino, a stop for a wine tasting in at an historical wine cellar. There you will have the opportunity to have some light local foods together with wine. After the tasting and time spent in Montalcino, you’ll cross the Val d'Orcia with the trademark rolling Tuscan landscape and arrive to Pienza, the “Ideal Town of Renaissance architecture” created by Pope Pius II (Enea Silvio Piccolomini). Enjoy the simplicity and beauty, then at one of the cheese shops, a taste the typical sheep's cheese “pecorino”, which centuries ago was introduced to the region and then its production passed down through the generations.
