Day 1: Arrival in Florence - Orientation
Arrive to Florence to check in to your city center hotel. Time will be given to acquaint yourself with your accommodations. An afternoon orientation “meet & greet” will be conducted at the hotel. Later in the evening you will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2: Guided City Tour of Florence with Museums and Art Galleries Visit
Morning breakfast and then your art week will begin with a guided walking tour in the historical center of Florence with an art historian tour guide. In the morning you will visit the Uffizi Museum, giving an emphasis to art of the Renaissance (2 hours). The Uffizi meant to be an officio (office) for magistrates as well as judges, technicians and merchants of Florence, was converted to a private art gallery for the pleasure of the famous ruling family of Florence, the Medici. In the afternoon, the day will continue with the Galleria Dell’ Accademia, a hospital in 14th century, but now Florence’s Academy of Fine Arts; it houses the original statue ”David”, the absolute masterpiece by Michelangelo, a must for all visitors of Florence (2 hours). The evening is yours to spend as you wish. (B)
Day 3: PARCO SCULTURE DEL CHIANTI + Arrival to Siena + Painting lesson
Morning breakfast and then depart for Siena by passing south through Chianti. You will stop to visit the PARCO SCULTURE DEL CHIANTI – with the visit of the artistic path plus the House-Gallery of the owner’s – Private Collection (which include both sculptures and painting). Afterwards you will arrive to Siena have the proper time to check in to your hotel accommodations (Borgo Grondaie). Shortly after you have completed your check-in you will enjoy a discussion class at the hotel (2 hours) with local painter/sculptor Giuseppe Amadio. Following his presentation, a wine tasting / happy hour. Dinner will be provided by the hotel owners as a special welcome to their property and to Siena. (B, D, W)
Day 4: CERAMICS CLASS + CASTELLO DI AMA
After breakfast, a short distance into Chianti, your day will begin with the first full immersion with art with a 4 hour ceramics lesson, hosted by local artist, Graziella Olla. You will enjoy your time choosing the shape of the item and then learning all the painting techniques. Once completed, your item will be “fired” and then waiting for you to receive prior to the conclusion of the program. In the afternoon you will visit CASTELLO DI AMA – Gaiole in Chianti - with a guided visit of the permanent collection consisting of the art installations in the cellars of this well-known winery, as well in their outdoor art park (borgo medieval); naturally after this art appreciation, you will have a guided visit tour of the wine cellars and a wine tasting. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy the satisfaction of completing your day. (B, L, W)
Day 5: Painting Class - Art Application
Morning breakfast and then in to Siena to spend the day dedicated completely to painting. You will enjoy with your private painting lesson (2 hours am; 2 hours pm) with a Sienese artist (Giuseppe Amadio). In between classes you are free to rome the streets of Siena, taking in all the medieval architecture and the city’s history. Later a return to the hotel and the evening at your leisure. (B)
Day 6: Painting Class - Art Application
Your last day will be devoted to the 2nd day of your painting lessons (2 hours) and then the afternoon is free to compose as you would like, or you may wish to join the scheduled Siena city tour. The evening will provide your Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 7: Departure
Morning breakfast and transfer departure to Florence, or the Florence airport (included in your package). (B)

Base price includes accommodations for 6 nights, arrival transfer to hotel in Florence and from/to Florence for the hotel in Siena; with transportation as needed for itinerary activities, plus meals and cultural activities as indicated. Departure transfer to cities other than Florence can also be accommodated (with additional cost).
